Hmm. Nighttime and diners bring such cool thoughts to lovers. You could say it isn’t the setting of a retro-styled building and its echoing theme inside, but the programme of nostalgia running through my mind. Retro is all that I look back on, but it improves with the sweeter memories I pick. It’s tough to remember sad moments when looking at banquettes that say “New! Exciting! Optimistic!” I can’t help envisioning them as the designs of such hopeful manufacturers of yore. Like scent and music, the theme is pervasive and complete.

I looked back at my love life as I ate a spinach pie. Great food, it was. Funny to think that the lover I’ve always had is Fashion. All it took to wash away my failures and successes with men and women was a sheet of paper and a pencil. These days, I use Photoshop and nudes to draw layers. Times change, but this passion and sensibility toward the interior paradise in my head remains as the one I have loved all my life. Yes, I love you, Fashion. You love me, too. We’ve been together in the darkest and also the most brilliant times. A toast in your honour!
