Shadows crossing over the stone stains
Glimpse cool and cold
Where there should undoubtedly be warmth
A late spring and hesitant summer yet to manifest
Provide no succour at the bottom of the garden

Shreds of colour ease further forward
Daring to reach right in
To imagination firing rockets through the senses
Blinded to the obvious, rediscovery becomes necessary

A cabbage white alights lost in petals
Camouflage blown apart in roses
Instead of mottled green and blanks
It appears a feather on the heavy scented pink silk

In the distance, two dogs bark apart
Conversations, sky punctuations
Through their calling the sun knows when to drop
Children turn off electronics for a few hours

Shadows fall further touching toes in shoes
Alarm clocks need no prompting
Your eyelids dipped when you lied
Still I love you. Still be here.
