I live in a downtown area because I hate driving in the city. I walk almost daily past the local sandwich shop run by Eusebio, the old Cuban man and his hot son to indulge my visual lust. Their turkey club sandwich is another guilty pleasure. On weekends, I will walk even further for a good deal on my groceries at the local farmer’s market, like the good Jewish boy I am.
Yesterday, I fed pigeons with crumbs from my sandwich as I sat on a bench and waited for a taxi in front of City Hall. I smiled when I chipped the crust off the bread to feed the birds and looked up to the skyscrapers for my reflection and I knew I would be O.K.
