Upon the completion of studies in science and sociology at secondary school, Christina Kruse began her career as one of European haute couture’s top fashion models in 1992, living first in Milan, and then Paris and New York. In 1996, she bought a Mamiya camera and began composing the first of her “Reisebuchs” – a series of mixed media journals chronicling her world travels, and composed of collages, drawings, writings, and photographic self-portraits. Her work as an artist and photographer since has been recognised for more than a decade, shown by well-regarded galleries in Paris, Germany and New York, and has been featured in Vogue, Interview, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, I-D and Mixte as well as other publications. In 2005, she received an award from GLAAD for the best emerging artist in photography. Christina was born in Germany. She lives and works in New York.
